Ken Loach continues his creative Indian summer streak with this follow-up to I, Daniel Blake and Sorry We Missed You. Two disenfranchised communities interact: a decaying NE mining village; Syrian refugees fleeing the Assad regime. Mutual distrust and antipathy are moderated through the failing Old Oak pub‘s jaded proprietor ‘TJ’ (Dave Turner) and positive, empathetic exile Yara (Ebla Mari), in despair over her missing, probably murdered father. We follow TJ as he tries to do the right thing, amongst the crushed hopes and resentments from years of austerity and post-industrial decline. As with Daniel Blake, director Loach will have you fully engaged and rooting for TJ, and for Yara: good people in a seemingly uncaring world.

Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton shine in the lead roles in this poignant drama. A retiree impulsively decides to walk across the country to visit his terminally ill friend and former colleague Queenie, leaving his wife hurt and confused. Keith James presents an honest and loving reflection of the timeless and insightful music of Yusuf – Cat Stevens

Keith James is a long standing, well-respected and inventive concert performer who specialises in playing intimate, carefully researched biographic style concerts of those he has studied and revered as writers over the years.

He weaves the story of Cat Stevens’ life from his early pop career, life threatening illness and spiritual journey around a performance of his beautifully crafted and memorable songs. Keith has performed 106 of these concerts since 2017, all of which have been incredibly well received, with many sold out. This concert will give you far more than just the music itself…

There is a huge amount of insight into the history and the spirit of Cat Stevens; his early pop career, his illness that changed him existentially and spiritually into an incredibly thoughtful and loving singer songwriter; such that his songs are remembered instantly for their uplifting sense of vision, truth and human fragility.

Much to talk about the background and embryo of each song; some of which will be performed as all of us remember and some, carefully and intuitively re-voiced; respectfully re-interpreted with rich, balanced guitar arrangements and a more personal vocal approach.

Proceeds and audience donations from this tour of concerts will go to the UNICEF UK Syrian Children’s appeal.

When Mr Green comes back from holiday to find Mr White in his house, it’s the start of a brrrrilliant series of adventures as Mr White covers the whole house in snow and Mr Green does everything he can to get him outside into the garden.

The audience gets stuck in with their own snow, making a snowman and joining in with a massive snowball fight. But it’s getting warmer and, as Mr White stars to melt, the tables might be turning…

Snow Play is a showdown between Winter and Spring over who gets to stay and who has to go away!

And to mark the diamond anniversary in 2024, The Mersey Beatles will play the entire A Hard Day’s Night album in the first half of their show – followed by a hit-packed collection of Beatlemania classics.
