Let’s Rock The 70s

This isn’t a tribute act – these super-talented musicians are Hazel O’Connor’s band!

Their new show – “Let’s Rock the 70s”- presents the iconic rock songs that defined an era, celebrating the greatest decade of rock music.

Veterans of Glastonbury, these magnificent musicians have built a fabulous reputation over the years, working regularly with stars like Toyah Willcox, Carol Decker and Two Tone Legends, Pauline Black, (TheSelecter), Neville Staples (The Specials), Rankin Roger (The Beat).

Recreating the sound of the 70s, favourite numbers include Fleetwood Mac “Go your own way”, Boston “More than a feeling”, Peter Frampton “Show me the way”, Elton John “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”, Eagles “Hotel California”, Mud “Tiger Feet”, Paul McCartney and Wings “Live and Let Die”, AC/DC “Highway toHell” and many more.

The band’s fantastic live sound is mixed by Grammy Award winner Roger Lomas who, amongst others, produced Bad Manners, The Specials and toured with Roy Wood. All music is performed completely live – no backing tracks with this band! Playing all the hits of the golden decade of rock music, this show is becoming established as a firm fans’ favourite.

Simply Barbra

Steven Brinberg brings his hilarious and ever-evolving tribute to Barbra Streisand, “Simply Barbra,” to the Gatehouse.

Brinberg has perfected his live vocal and comic impression of Streisand over the show’s 20-year run, which originated in his native New York before touring internationally in even more cities than Streisand herself.

Brinberg is no stranger to the stage. For over a decade, he toured with Marvin Hamlisch and his symphony orchestra as a special guest star. He also performed at Stephen Sondheim’s birthday concert at the Library of Congress, at Carnegie Hall with Uptown Express, and on Broadway in the concert version of “Funny Girl” with Whoopi Goldberg.  Brinberg has also performed at special events for such notables as Donna Karan, Joan Rivers, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Liza Minnelli.

Marty Wilde & The Wildcats Greatest Hits Tour

Marty Wilde has secured the rare feat of chart success as a singer and songwriter across eight consecutive decades on the Official Albums and Singles Chart.

The remarkable achievement by the former teen-pop icon – who is also the father of ’80s pop star Kim Wilde With his latest album Running Together, Marty landed at Number 75 on the Official Albums Chart and makes history in the process at the age of 81.

The new album was written and recorded alongside Marty’s two daughters, Kim and Roxanne Wilde who both lend their vocal talents with additional input from son Ricky.

The chart entry (Oct 9th, 2020)means that Marty’s hit-making talents have landed him success in the Official Chart Top 100 in every decade since the 1950s – as a credited performer in the 1950s, 60s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s, scoring six Top 10 singles and 2 Top 20 albums in his own name.

Plus, in the 1970s Marty also tasted chart success as a songwriter with hits he penned for Peter Shelley (Love Me, Love My Dog, No.3 in 1975) and in the 1980s for his daughter Kim Wilde, starting with 1981’s “Kids In America”, plus Hot Chocolate’s “You’ll Never Be So Wrong” in May 1981.

The release and chart placement of Marty’s new material in this new decade arrives ahead of some of his other notable 1950s British pop peers who have also enjoyed long and successful chart careers, including Cliff Richard, Petula Clark, and Shirley Bassey.
